Love Island USA Season 8, Episode 29 - America Had the Final Say
Of course, we jump right back into the aftermath of the compatibility vote.
Kenzie is still struggling with the fact that Melanie and Sincere voted against her relationship with Dylan, which finally leads to the conversation we've all been waiting for.
Melanie doesn't sugarcoat anything.
She tells Kenzie she still feels exactly the same way she did during the vote. In her eyes, Kenzie wasn't finished exploring other connections. She simply felt guilty enough to stop.
Then came the part I don't think Kenzie expected.
Melanie also pushed back on Kenzie's claim that she was her best friend in the Villa.
According to Mel, once Sol and Jen arrived, Kenzie naturally gravitated toward them and stopped spending much time with her.
It wasn't said with anger.
It was just honest.
Honestly, I respected that.
Parmida also had a few things to get off her chest.
She believes Kenzie's vote against her and Corbin wasn't about compatibility at all.
She thinks it was personal.
Whether that's true or not, one thing is clear: those compatibility votes left more bruised feelings than anyone expected.
Then the Villa got a much-needed break from all the serious conversations.
It was Karaoke Night.
Love Island style.
Each couple had to perform a song in front of the rest of the Villa, who would then vote for their favorite performance.
I have to admit...
It was way more entertaining than I expected.
Were they all great singers?
Absolutely not.
Did they fully commit anyway?
Absolutely.
And honestly, that's what made it fun.
Kenzie and Dylan ended up winning the competition.
Unfortunately...
The celebration lasted about five minutes.
America had been voting.
The bottom three couples were revealed as:
Corbin & Parmida
Kayda & Zach
Kenzie & Dylan
Then came another twist.
Because Kenzie and Dylan had won Karaoke Night, they were automatically safe.
If you've spent any time online since the episode aired, you've probably already seen the debate.
A lot of viewers think that immunity twist was conveniently introduced to keep them from going home.
Whether that's true or not, social media definitely has opinions.
That left the Islanders with one final decision.
They ultimately chose to send Corbin and Parmida home.
My Prediction
Next episode probably won't focus on the people who left.
It's going to focus on the people who stayed.
Because once Islanders realize America placed them in the bottom, the questions start.
"Why us?"
"What did we miss?"
"How are we being perceived?"
Sometimes finding out what America thinks changes the game more than any recoupling ever could.
And judging by the previews...
Some egos are about to take a pretty big hit.
