Such A Clever Girl

This book was exactly what I needed in the midst of several book disappointments. It may be over 400 pages, but I finished it in a day.

Imagine one of your neighbors simply vanishing one day, the whole family. House unlocked, lights on cars and phones still there. Just gone without a trace. Bank accounts not being used and their business set on fire. Now, 15 years later, one of the children returns as a grown woman. And she is not offering up an explanation. Where is the rest of the family? Where have they been? What the heck happened?

It has the short chapters I love. Gets right into dropping you in the drama of everyone involved, back then and now. The only thing I will say is it can get a tad confusing about who is talking. The book switches back and forth between 4 different characters and each time it is done in the first person. Nice little twists, so when you think you may have figured out where they are going, you get yet another surprise. But then, Darby Kane never disappoints.

*Disclaimer: I obtained a advance copy of this book in return for an honest review.
