September has a funny way of making January feel like it happened about three weeks ago.

Somehow, we're already looking at the last four months of the year.

Which means this is also about the time some of us remember those goals we enthusiastically wrote down in January and think...

So, what exactly happened here?

For a long time, I had a very specific picture of what confidence looked like.

She walked into a room and owned it.

Never seemed nervous.

Always knew exactly what to say.

Probably had the perfect comeback ready too, instead of thinking of it three hours later in the shower like the rest of us.

Confidence looked bold, outgoing and completely sure of herself.

At least that's what I thought.

Turns out, some of the most confident people I've met aren't particularly loud at all.

Women are really good at noticing when everyone else needs something.

Someone hasn't eaten? We notice and turn on the oven.

A family member mentions an appointment they need to make? We write it down, remind them, or make it for them if need be.

The people we love aren't feeling well? Suddenly we're asking questions, looking things up, and making sure they actually do what they're supposed to do.

Meanwhile, our own bodies can practically submit a formal written complaint and we'll respond with, "I'll deal with that next week." Or the equally popular, "I'll get to it."

About a year ago I finally created a Reading Room the way I had always wanted.

There are four Billy Bookcases filled with books, several comfy reading spots and lighting that’s good for getting lost in a story.

But here’s where I admit I’m a little weird.

The only books allowed on those shelves are the ones I’ve already read.

At some point, we've all looked at our lives and wondered what happened to our motivation.

Projects that once excited us start collecting dust. Workouts get skipped. The book we've been meaning to read stays on the nightstand. Even the hobbies we genuinely enjoy can begin to feel like another obligation.

Social media has a way of taking one sentence and turning it into a full-blown gender war.

Lately, it seems every other video ends with a man saying, "A woman should bring me peace."

Almost immediately, the comments fill with women saying, "Nah... be his karma."

I have a question.

And if anybody knows the answer, I'd genuinely love to hear it.

At what point did women become the unpaid project managers of everybody else's lives?

Seriously.

Because I don't remember filling out an application.

I don't remember interviewing for the position.

And I definitely don't remember accepting the promotion.

Between the slides, the laughs, and the conversations, the girls finally had an opportunity to relax and strengthen friendships without relationship drama taking over every second.

Some Islanders are wondering why America put them in the bottom.

Others seem genuinely shocked they weren't standing there themselves.

Then production decided everyone needed a break from the drama.

The girls received a text telling them they had to secretly complete a series of challenges without the boys figuring out what was happening.

Honestly?

This ended up being one of the funniest segments we've seen all season.
