The Getaway

Rating: 4/5
Genre: Thriller / Suspense
Review Style: Spoiler-free

This was such a breath of fresh air after several disappointing reads.

Apparently, I have a thing for books where you put a bunch of people in one location, take away their ability to escape, and start dropping bodies. 😂 This one gave me exactly what I wanted.

There are quite a few characters since several married couples are gathering for their annual trip, but the author does a great job of giving everyone enough personality that I never struggled to remember who was who.

I had an inkling about one of the twists, but the others caught me completely by surprise, which I always appreciate. The mystery kept me interested, the characters were easy to follow, and most importantly, I actually wanted to keep reading.

Now I’m off to look for more books by this author, because apparently my TBR isn’t ridiculous enough already.
