Reality Check: Love Island USA Season 8, Episode 23 — Some Men Still Don't Get It

This episode picks up exactly where Episode 21 left off. (Episode 22 was Aftersun, so don't worry, you didn't miss a recap.)

Watching Aniya completely break down was hard.

Too many of us have been there, feeling like our entire world is falling apart because of a man who clearly wasn't worth all those tears.

Thankfully, Melanie stepped in and reminded us why she's become such a fan favorite. She poured life back into Aniya when she needed it most, delivering what will probably become one of the most quoted moments of the season.

That whole "Build-A-Bear man" speech?

Iconic.

Now if Melanie could just start believing those same words herself, we'd really be getting somewhere. She deserves better too.

Then there's Parmida.

Did her comments irritate me?

Absolutely.

Watching another woman completely fall apart and deciding that's the perfect time to joke about them "acting married" or remind everyone that they're grown women instead of little girls wasn't the flex she seemed to think it was.

One thing life has taught me is that karma has impeccable timing.

The last thing women should be doing is laughing at another woman's heartbreak.

Meanwhile...

Sincere is still walking around acting confused about why Melanie is upset.

Sir.

Were you present for Casa Amor?

Because the rest of America certainly was.

And speaking of men pretending not to understand...

KC is somehow still laughing and acting like he has no idea why viewers are upset.

Let me explain it one more time.

Nobody cares that you explored another connection.

That's literally the point of Casa Amor.

What people care about is the constant disrespect.

You can pursue someone new without tearing someone else down.

Honestly, that's true on Love Island and in real life.

One of the biggest red flags for me has always been a man who constantly talks badly about the women from his past. If he'll do it to them, what exactly makes you think you'll be the exception?

Zach is busy trying to convince Kayda how amazing it is that he came back single.

Funny how that story leaves out one very important detail.

He never actually had to make a decision because his Casa connection was removed from the show.

That's okay.

Movie Night has a funny way of filling in the missing details.

The atmosphere between the women also seemed noticeably lighter, which makes me think production probably had a conversation with everyone behind the scenes.

After all, sharing a makeup room while half the Villa can't stand each other probably isn't ideal.

That said...

I'm not quite ready to forgive and forget.

Then the mood shifted completely.

The Islanders thought they were preparing for another boys-versus-girls competition.

Instead...

In walked Megan Thee Stallion.

Again.

The challenge consisted of three rounds, beginning with a musical chairs-style game where Islanders danced before racing to find a cake to sit on.

Round two turned into a giant cake fight, with contestants choosing who to smash in the face while explaining exactly why.

Some of the men's choices made absolutely no sense.

But are we really surprised at this point?

Once the women got their turn, a few bruised egos started showing.

KC became defensive almost immediately.

Corbin, however, actually apologized for his behavior, which was probably one of the more surprising moments of the episode.

The final challenge came down to Kenzie and Zach in a cake-eating contest.

Kenzie technically had the advantage and honestly should have won. She thought she'd already found the hidden prize and stopped searching, giving Zach just enough time to locate it himself.

The hidden message?

Revenge is Sweet.

Turns out it wasn't just the challenge.

Megan revealed that America had been voting for our favorite Casa Islanders, and two familiar faces were back in the Villa.

Amora.

And Carl.

Now that's a twist.

My Prediction

Episode 24 is about to get messy.

The biggest question isn't whether Carl and Aniya will reconnect.

It's whether enough time has passed for Carl to decide he's no longer interested after Aniya didn't choose him during the recoupling.

Then there's Amora.

Sincere has spent days trying to rewrite what happened at Casa Amor.

Unfortunately for him...

The person who actually witnessed everything just walked back into the Villa.

Something tells me those stories are about to start falling apart.

And honestly?

I'm grabbing the popcorn now.
