Cross Her Heart

Book Summary:

When a homicide detective’s sister is killed in a crime that mirrors their parents’ murder-suicide, she’s forced to confront a past she buried long ago. As secrets surface and the truth refuses to line up, the danger once again hits far too close to home.

Review:

I picked this up as a quick palate cleanser between another series; or so I thought. Instead, I found myself starting yet another series, and this one is a doozy. From the very first phone call from Bree’s sister, I was hooked. You immediately want to know who hurt her and shattered those kids’ lives forever. The backstory of Bree and her siblings makes everything feel like a devastating case of déjà vu - one no family should ever have to relive.
