I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Keep Them Close is a suspense-filled story about family loyalty, buried secrets, and the way the past can quietly shape the present. Allison and Luke have always been close, but after Allison’s husband, Finley, is murdered, the investigation begins to uncover truths that have been hidden for years. What follows is a tense unraveling of lies, betrayal, and painful mistakes that force both siblings to question how well they really know each other.
What immediately worked for me was the emotional tension at the center of the story. The sibling dynamic gave this book more depth than a standard murder mystery, because the stakes felt personal from the very beginning. As more secrets surfaced, the story became less about one crime and more about trust, guilt, and the damage that can build over time when people protect the wrong things.
I also liked that the book kept me questioning where everyone stood. Stories like this work best when the relationships feel layered, and this one definitely had that. There was enough suspicion, emotional conflict, and shifting perspective to keep me engaged and wanting to know how everything would come together.
If I had one critique, it would be that there were moments where I wanted just a little more depth in certain reveals or character motivations. The premise is strong, and the emotional fallout is interesting, so a bit more development in a few places would have made the impact even stronger for me.
Overall, I found this to be an engaging and twisty read with a solid emotional core. If you enjoy suspense stories that mix family drama with murder, secrets, and betrayal, Keep Them Close is definitely one to add to your list.
